roadways. there's a look at your averages on the beltway. there's a look at 70. now wjz has the stories that people are talking about this morning. here's don. >> thank you. a grow ing ing number of women coming forward worried they were recorded by hidden cameras by a form john hopkins ob/gyn. wjz and mike schuh are live outside city police head quarters. good morning. >> reporter: good morning. to help with the forensics the feds are being brought in. this as more outraged women are speaking out. >> wjz learns that federal authorities are actively involved in the investigation of dr. nikita levy, the john hopkins gynecologist fired for taking pictures of his patients. >> tracy williams is sick. >> when was he doing? >> what is a big unknown.

videos has me on there or not. i don't know. i can't but think about it. >> reporter: police said it's going to take time to come through those hard drives and all of the victims may not be identified. i'm mike schuh reporting. back to you. >> thank you . city police have established a special phone line that number is 410-396-2269. now a story we brought you as breaking news last night. police are investigating a murder/suicide in north baltimore. officers were called to the block of frisbee street and found you a man and woman with gunshot wounds, both of them are dead. a young child was found near by but unharmed. investigators aren't saying who pulled the trigger. a man with down syndrome dies in police custody. now the deputies involved are off the job. meghan mccorkell has the case. >> this incident happened more than a month ago.

the medical examiner has just ruled that ethan saylor died from asphyxia while in police custody. investigators say secret was called when 26-year-old etan saylor refused to leave a fred i can movie theater. off duty deputies put saylor in handcuffs, face down. that's when police say he suffered a medical emergency and died. >> he's never had anybody put their hands on him before in his life. >> the case has sparked outraged with hundreds commenting on the sheriff's facebook page. the sheriff issued a letter saying the death of mr. saylor was very tragic and want to ensure everyone that a thorough investigation is being conducted. the three deputies have been placed on administrative leave pending the results of the investigation. iffer the past month they've been on the job. >> the family doesn't and i don't understand why they were not placed on administrative

leave immediately upon the death of someone in their custody. >> we miss him. it's our loss. >> ethan saylor was a beloved church member. his pastor said he was known for giving hugs to everyone who walked through the doors. >> the week after he died the seat that he sat in was covered in flowers. dozens of people brought flowers to remember ethan. >> now friends family, even strangers want answers about what happened to ethan. >> the sheriff's office has received so many calls about ethan's death they're considering setting up a call center just for this case alone. marty's over in -- alone. >> the sheriff's office will conduct the investigation and sent it on to the state's attorney to determine if charges should be filed. this city's top cop is demanding a review of how weapons are used after a man is shot during a training exercise. mike hellgren tells us about a new call for action. >> good morningment the police

commissioner said there was a break down in the system but one week after this tragic shooting police have yet to provide a full accounting of what led up to it. >> police acknowledge protocols were not followed when a training officer shot his trainee in the head. the officers mistook his service weapon with the training weapon during an exercise that was not properly supervised. the commissioner says he's visited the trainee's hospital bed several times and doctors say he's progressing better than expected. following the shooting police named a new director for the police academy and suspended six officers. training resumed on a limited basis but not with firearms. right now state police are conducting a criminal investigation. >> they say that could take several weeks. mike hellgren, wjz eyewitness news. >> the trainee injured works for the university of maryland police department and is in critical condition. this morning crew red sox on the scene of a gas explosion

that set off a huge fire in kansas city, missouri. the fire levelled a restaurant full of people last night. right now dogs are searching through the rubble to make sure no one is buried. in south africa, olympian oscar pistorius is back in the courtroom. defense attorneys are expected to step up their fight today to keep the sprinter out of prison. they insist the shooting of his girlfriend was an accident. it's tina crouse covering the story. >> oscar pistorius covered his head with blanket as he road back to court in a police car for day two of his bail hearing in south africa's capital. his defense team is trying to keep him out of jail before he goes on trial for the premeditated murder of his girlfriend, model reeva steenkemp. the judge says pistorius's lawyers would have

to provide circumstances for bail. they say he's a cold-blooded killer who shot steenkemp after an argument. a witness heard non-stop shouting coming from pistorius's home before the shooting. the olympic super star known as the blade runner known for prosthetics was not wearing them. pistorius says he fired four shots through the locked door and shouted for steenkemp to call the police before realizing she was not in his bed and he shot her. prosecutors say the sprinter took time the put on his legs, walk across the room and open fire on steenkemp hiding in the bathroom. family and friends buried the super model on tuesday. pistorius said he was deeply in love with

steenkemp and filled with horror and fear as she died in his arms. >> police officers contain they found needles and test toast roan. police are looking for thieves who got away with millions of dollars in diamonds yesterday in belgium. eight mask gunman drove through a fence at the airport on monday night and on to the tarmac in two vehicles. the men$2 vehicles. the mengunman drove through a fence at the airport on monday night and on to the tarmac in $2 vehicles. the men stole an estimated ---en maes ---en estimated of $50 worth of diamonds. >> the operation took 3 minutes. this was a quick hit and run. >> police said they found a burned out vehicle near the airport and was probably the van used in the heist.

the eight were all armed with machine guns but nobody was hurt. if you're planning on attending a ravens game expect to pay more. ticket prices will rise about 10%. it is the first time the ravens have raised their prices in 4 years. they say the increase is in no way related to the super bowl win the decision was made before the past season. i apologize for the sneeze. >> get the duster during the commercial break. i just read an interesting blog. if you crunch the numbers the ravens don't make all that much money. what's the salary cap? $120 million? what's the -- between ticket prices, tv contract, $118. you can make that up with

it's 25 past 6:00. under the radar and maybe straight into our pockets with big issues like gun control and the death penalty another bid of legislation could hit your family budget. this morning it's a possibility of higher gas taxes. >> there's never a good time for paying at the pump, especially when it hits earlier than usual. >> it's awful. i mean, i'm put putting like at least $100 a week in my car. >> now talk is servicing of a possible gas tax increase. >> i heard it on the radio today about the state of maryland wanting to raise the gas tax. it's shocking. >> it's also the state with one of the worst commutes in the country. >> we're not going to solve that problem by investing less. we have a flat tax on gasoline

that hasn't been changed since 1992. >> absolutely not. we don't need it . >> republicans like suzanne believes there's another way to get people out of gridlock, by making things like car registration being present on transportation, nothing else. >> 80% travel on roads to commute to work. only 8% use mass transportation. >> i myself would prefer to see it not happen. >> increase the gas tax by 3%. >> could be as much as 10 cents more. >> i won't be able to drive my car. >> just as republican legislatures want less spent on mass transit. >> right now nothing is certain one way or the other about increase or legislation that would keep funds from being used for other projects. next up this morning right

delay on the west side outer loop. 52 is now your average. there's a look at 95 south of the beltway and another look outside, that one at 795 at ownings mills boulevard. those are the southbound lanes coming towards us. now wjz has the stories that people are talking about this morning. here's don. >> thank you . former chicago area congressman jesse jackson junior and his wife will have separate hearings in the same dc courthouse today. the couple could be spending years behind bars. >> former congressman jesse jackson, junior and his wife, sandy jackson will both appear before a federal judge at this u.s. district courthouse in washington dc today. jackson has agreed to plead guilty to spending $750,000 of campaign donations on personal items including a gold watch. >> he resigned from congress, doing everything he can to try to make the government happy. he's willing to pay restitution.

he's saying i stepped up to the plate. >> it will be up to a federal judge for a decide in jackson gets a break. >> they will recommend jail. they will recommend a 5-year term. the judge can ignore that recommendation. >> jesse jackson unix your agree -- junior agreed to resign from congress. h -- he tried to protect his wife. >> prosecutors wouldn't accept any deals without the congressman acknowledging his wife knew what he was doing. prosecutors say she spent some of the campaign money on furs. they're only charging him with filing false income tax returns. she's resigned from her seat on the chicago city council. >> it could be hard for any family to go through what we've gone through publicly. >> the former congressman has been out of the public eye for the last 8 months while being

treated for a bipolar disorder. >> the jackson's have been married for more than 20 years and have a 12-year-old son and 9 year old daughter. in california many questions following another deadly 9 year old daughter. in california many questions following another deadly shooting spree. 20-year-old ali sael killed three people and injured several others before turning the gun on himself. he shot a woman to death in his home then took off in his parents car. that led to a string of carjackings and shootings. >> mr. saed said i don't want to hurt you i killed somebody, today is my last day give me your keys. >> police said he drove on to the freeway and fired at drivers. he then went onto carjack two more vehicles, killing those drivers. so far there's no word on a motive for all that. back here, the invasion of privacy could be far worse than

>> reporter: legal experts believe this case could lead to civil suits against john hopkins. >> city police have established a phone line for levy's patients. lawyers for michael johnson the man convicted of murdering phylicia barnes are requesting a new trial. johnson's defense attorneys say the prosecution made improper statements to the jury and with held information. johnson was convicted of second degree murder. they say he sexual assaulted and killed barnes. a decision on a new trial could come within a week. the perry hall high school student accused of opening fire on the first day of school take as plea deal. 15-year-old robert gladden should spent the next 60 years in prison. >> robert gladden junior is

just 15 and could be in prison until he's nearly 60 years old. >> home ownership -- i hope it's brought a little bit of closure. >> gladden is responsible for the shooting at perry hall high school that injured daniel borowy. >> the road is not done. he's got a way s to go. >> gladden's trial was set to begin today in baltimore county. instead with emotional family members he pled guilty to the charge. >> there could not have been honestly stronger case. >> investigators say gladden took one of his father's shotguns to school armed to kill. as they hauled gladden off to jail he said can i get the health penalty, i wanted to kill him i wanted to commit suicide. he listed eric harris and dylan clebolt on his facebook page. >> that's had -- what he gets. >> he brought

a gun to schooling shot a kid. he made everyone terrified to come back the next day. >> the prosecution was hoping for a life sentence, the judge deciding on a maximum of 40 years. students say while the case is closed the wounds left are still open. >> he harmed a lot of people, not just physically but emotionally. >> in baltimore rochelle richie. >> sentencing is scheduled for monday. a u.s. delegate is on the island of cuba working to free alan gross. the maryland man was arrested in december of 2009 for setting up illegal internet connections as part of a building program. the 62-year-old was sentenced to 15 years in prison in 2011. the delegation headed by patrick lahey met with cuban president castro and is expected to see gross before they leave. charm city could make another run at hosting the olympics. right now the

committee is looking for potential sites for the 2024 summer games. according to the baltimore sun the committee is showing interest in 35 cities nationwide including this one. baltimore made an a unsuccessful bid to cohost the 2012 summer olympics along with washington dc. >> pointed out how many sports venues were available. >> wouldn't have to build a lot, that's for sure. there was a big story on tv i was watching, how london is going to be one of the cities not to go into debt on their olympics because they built the whole thing to be temporary and left on what the community needed after the fact. >> good thinking. >> they just paid off the last olympics in greece? they built $100 million baseball stadium

25 years on, it's kind of great to see the franchise still alive and kicking. it's such an iconic series of films. it was a real pleasure to get involved. i mean this particular installment won't disappoint. it's an absolute killer. we had a lot of fun doing it. >> i was in a movie theater when the trailer first came up and people groaned. by the end people were like wow. >> it's like the rocky thing. six was as big a block buster as the first was. this has block bust written all over it. what was it like when you first met bruce willis? >> it was great. i was obviously nervous anxious. you know he's a cool guy and has a lot of fun doing what he does and made it easy to adopt that

attitude and relax. >> what's your fondest bruce willis video ? if you were sitting around with your mates knocking back a brew and somebody says what is you favorite scene what was it be? >> i remember sitting in a car shooting a scene and he was making me laugh. he likes to ad lib and keep it light and fresh. i could hardly keep it together. it wasn't supposed to be a funny scene but that was my fondest memories. i found that i -- you know, i really held on to the more intimate moments. >> any chance you'll be taking over the franchise in six? >> it's a flattering concept. if i get the

call up to play jack again i'd love to. i don't know about taking over. bruce isn't done with it just yet. we'll have to wait and see. i'd love to do another one that's for sure. >> you just gave us a little insight there. know the questions have been at bruce willis. you landed one of the most coveted roles in all of hollywood. when did you look in the mirror and say you're living large? >> probably onset. it was obviously a huge opportunity. i was really excite d to be in consideration for it. in the nature of how things get past in the audition process it can be a lengthy one. you try not to wait by the phone because so often you don't get the gig and get used to that system.

when i saw the scale of what we were doing and started shooting the scenes with bruce that's going to hit hard. there's no denying it it's very cool. >> wow. >> i'm always fascinated with as trail yankees ash yous -- australian actors. can you talk american for us? >> you have to come see the movie. . >> what are your currently working on? >> well -- you currently working on? >> i have a couple other things coming out. i had a chance to go home and do some films. it's always a treat. this film felony it's going to be wonderful. a little sidestep from the big crazy action star fun. it stars another australian john who wrote the script.
